Zebra Project

Hello everyone!!
I want to tell you about a zebra project that I was working on earlier in the year. I run a Facebook page raising awareness about Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and following my charity fundraising progress 'Dinkykts EDS Diaries'.
I needed a header for it and I wanted something personal and different to other pages so I decided to draw my own.
I researched different zebra illustrations so I can then decide how I want my zebra to look. I didn't want a realistic looking one. In the end it came down to two drawings and once it was up, I felt very proud as I had done the work all by myself.
I started it off with sketching pencils (Derwent) and progressed to ink. It didn't take me too long to do it once I started it. It was the first time that I have actually drawn anything to do with animals. So you can say that I surprised myself with the finished product!
Now I even have a self inking stamp with my header logo and to see it on cards and bags (the paper ones I used on my craft stall), it was a good achievement for me.
What do you think of it?

Sunday 8 December 2013

Hello and welcome!!

So this is my first blog post and I'd like to begin with saying hello to you. This is the place where I can fully keep you up to date with all the crafting that I do.
I will start my blog with the success of my first craft stall. I raised a good amount and did really well with customers loving my products!
I made felt Christmas tree decorations which consisted of stockings, hearts, Christmas puddings, birds, baubles, penguins and even Christmas trees. I also made felt bookmarks which were either hearts or owls. I decorated plain glass jars and filled them with sweets or pot purri. There was a collection of cards, these were made for all occasions but mainly for the christmas festive season. There were other things on the stall ie, knitted doll clothing and egg cosies but they weren't made by myself.
I thoroughly enjoyed selling my products and seeing the expressions on the customers' faces when they were browsing at the things. All the hard work and time that I put into making these crafts, definitely made worthwhile by the experience of stall holding.
Anyway, I do hope that you enjoy reading this blog and maybe find some craft inspiration for you to start crafting if you're not already doing so... I will leave you with some pics from the stall and a few of the products, bye!!
